Singaporean table tennis players Koen Pang and Izaac Quek have continued to make waves on the international stage by securing a silver medal in the men’s doubles event at the WTT Feeder Otocec 2025.
Despite being the number one seeds in the competition, they were made to work hard to seal their place in the final. Ultimately, they would fall short of gold to their opponents from Korea, going down 11-5, 11-5, 11-5 to the pair of Jang Seonggil and Woo Hyeonggyu.
This silver builds on recent successes achieved by the pair.
They ended Singapore’s 11-year medal drought in Men’s Doubles after clinching silver at the 27th ITTF-Asian Table Tennis Championships becoming the first local born pair to win a medal at the event.
In November 2024, Pang and Quek made headlines by breaking into the top 10 of the men’s doubles world rankings and qualifying for the World Table Tennis Finals for the second consecutive year. During that tournament, they achieved a sensational victory over China’s world No. 1 pair, Yuan Licen and Xiang Peng, advancing to the semi-finals before their remarkable run was halted by Japan’s Shunsuke Togami and Hiroto Shinozuka.
