The Singapore Table Tennis Association (STTA) wrapped up its 60 for 60 Table Tennis Team Challenge this weekend at OCBC Arena Hall 6, with 70 teams and over two hundred participants coming together to celebrate Singapore’s 60th birthday through a sport that they love.
Held on 12 and 13 July, the two-day event was more than just a table tennis tournament. It brought together table tennis exponents across different age groups, from as young as 7 to veteran players– united by their love for the game and the shared spirit of nationhood.

STTA President, Ms Poh Li San, who officiated the opening of the event, said:
“Through sports, communities can connect and bond. We are heartened by the overwhelming response from Singaporeans from all walks of life, towards the STTA 60 for 60 Table Tennis Team Challenge to celebrate SG60. It was definitely an exciting weekend, filled with strong camaraderie and passion as the 70 teams met each other for friendly matches.
I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the organising team who helped made this event possible. As we continue our celebrations, we look forward to the upcoming STTA Fundraising Golf and Dinner on 24 July. It’s another opportunity for the community to come together – this time in support of our young athletes and the future of table tennis in Singapore.”

The event culminated
in a thrilling final that saw Sunsports Team 10 emerge as champions, defeating
a spirited Yuhua CSN Team Blue with a 2-0 scoreline. Both teams displayed
strong teamwork and tenacity, but Sunsports Team 10 edged ahead with their
clinical finishing and composure under pressure.
Sharing the bronze were Sunsports Team 11 and Singapore Min Chong Sports Club,
who both put up commendable performances in the semi-finals. Singapore Min
Chong Sports Club, in particular, showed grit, skill, and teamwork as they held
their own against stronger opponents, becoming the only all-female team to
finish in the top four.
STTA would like to thank all participants, supporters, and volunteers who helped make the 60 for 60 challenge a success.
The Association remains committed to nurturing a vibrant table tennis scene and using sport as a platform to strengthen community ties.
