Singapore’s 19 year old star, Izaac Quek, retained his Men’s Singles title in a straight sets 4-0 victory over Bima Abdi of Indonesia in the final on Friday, 19 December.
Throughout the campaign, he was never flustered, even in the face of adversity.
Arriving at the Games with a singular focus, Izaac stayed true to his plan, trusted his game, and never allowed that focus to waver. I
n the biggest moments, his calm under pressure and championship mindset made the difference — and he has been fully rewarded for it.
At just 19 years old, Izaac has already shown that he rightfully belongs among the very best in Southeast Asia, proving time and again that age is no barrier when discipline, resilience and hunger for excellence come together.
With this triumph, Izaac becomes only the fourth man in Southeast Asian history to win the SEA Games Men’s Singles title in back-to-back editions, joining an elite list:
Gunawan Sutedja, Indonesia (1979 & 1981)
Anton Suseno, Indonesia (1991 & 1993)
Gao Ning, Singapore (2007–2011, 2015 & 2017)
He also becomes a two-time triple gold medalist (2023 & 2025). An amazing feat.
