
Young paddler Nathaniel Lim from the STTA Junior Development Squad, clinched a silver in the U11 Boys Singles at the WTT Youth Contender Senec 2025 in Slovakia.
The 11-year-old lost to Michal Tarakan of Poland, 8-11, 5-11, 6-11, in the final.
In the semifinals, Lim had ousted Sri Lanka’s Taavi Samaraweera by a score of 3-1 , winning 12-10, 6-11, 16-14, 11-7. Fellow Singaporean paddler Pan Jiaze earned himself a joint bronze after losing to Tarakan in the same round, going down 10-12, 7-11, 5-11 in straight sets.

Earlier in the quarterfinals, Lim won a Causeway Derby over Azhar Habib of neighbours Malaysia 3-1 (12-10, 5-11, 13-11, 12-10) while Pan defeated Daniel Casquero of Spain in a five-set thriller, coming from two sets down to eventually prevail 3-2 (13-15, 5-11, 11-9, 11-9, 13-11).
Lim and Pan reached the knockout stages of the event after finishing in their respective groups, with teammates Gerard Cher and Li Zhicheng missing out.
