Koen and Xin Ru secure joint 3rd place in Dusseldorf

Following their runners up finish at the WTT Feeder Varazdin over the weekend, Singapore’s Koen Pang and Wong Xin Ru added another podium finish when they finished joint-3rd in the Mixed Doubles at the WTT Feeder Dusseldorf.

Taking on the Korean pair of Park Ganghyeon and Kim Nayeong in the semifinals, the number one seeds fought hard and gave it their all but were ultimately defeated in straight sets, 8-11, 8-11, 6-11.

Koen and Xin Ru had started their campaign by clawing their way back from 2-0 down against Baldwin Chan and Karen Lee of Hong Kong to win 3-2 in the Round of 16, and then cruised past the Kazakh pair of Aidos Kenzhigulov and Sarvinoz Mirkadirova 3-0 in the quarterfinals.

By clinching joint 3rd place, Koen and Xin Ru will increase their ranking points in the Race to Paris 2024. Their achievement reflects not only their individual skill levels but also their commitment to continuous improvement and excellence in the sport.
