
Singapore’s junior paddlers concluded their WTT Youth Contender Perth 2025 competition by clinching two bronzes in the U11 Girls’ Singles event at the Joondalup Arena.
The bronzes went to Leah Qi and Krystal Huang, after both had lost to Australian opposition in the semifinals.
Qi was defeated 3-0 by Angela Yuan, 7-11, 3-11, 5-11, while Huang also lost by the same score line to Lin Zhu, 8-11, 7-11, 10-12.

Earlier on, Qi had beaten fellow Singaporean Eileen Cui 3-1 in quarterfinals, winning 8-11, 11-6, 11-5, 11-3, while Huang had ousted teammate Ding Xiaoyu, also winning 3-1 (11-9, 11-6, 4-11, 11-8).

The bronzes won by Qi and Huang was the second in a row for the Junior Development Squad Special Programme players, with Qi having also clinched a bronze in the same event at the WTT Youth Contender San Francisco III and Huang taking bronze at the WTT Youth Contender Fremont.
These achievements are a testament to the hard work and dedication put in by both athletes and coaches.
