Unsung Heros

Liu Jiayi 刘加诒

Team Leader (National Men’s & Women’s Team)

Information:

Coach Liu joined STTA in March 2014 and is familiar with the national team dynamics.

Coach Liu has vast experience in coaching international players.  He had spent some time in the Middle East coaching players in the UAE Table Tennis Club.  In 1994, Coach Liu was appointed to coach the English National Table Tennis Youth Team.  In 1998, Coach Liu had a new appointment as the head coach of the English National Table Tennis men’s team.  During this term, Coach Liu was instrumental in guiding Matthew Syed to winning the men’s singles and men’s doubles gold in the 2000 Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships.

At the 2010 Commonwealth Games, the English table tennis team won the men’s team silver and bronze in the men’s doubles and mixed doubles.  The English men’s team also won the bronze in the men’s team and men’s doubles events at the Commonwealth Table Tennis Championships 2013.

Hao Anlin 郝安林

Head Coach, National Women’s Team

Information:

Coach Hao was officially appointed as the Head Coach with effect from 1st May 2017.

He has been supporting the women’s team since 2005.

Zhang Zhen 张震

 

Designation:

Assistant Coach, National Men’s Team

Information:

Coach Zhang was a former youth coach at the Poland Zielona Góra Table Tennis Club, 2008 to 2010 and Zhengding, China Table Tennis Training Centre from 2010 to 2016

An Kexiao 安柯晓

 

Designation:

Assistant Head Coach, National Women’s Team

Information:

Coach An has coached all levels of table tennis from Shandong University to Korea Chunchun Table Tennis Club.

Gao Ning 高宁

 

Designation:

Assistant Coach, National Men’s Team

Information:

National men’s team stalwart Gao Ning assumed the new role as the men’s assistant coach cum player in 2016. Gao began his professional coaching career as an understudy to current national coach Liu Jiayi.

Gao have been closely involved in mentoring and training the younger generation of players from the national team and intermediate squad. Gao is expected to retire from playing after the Asian Games 2018.
